Welcome to our website!  Here you can find details of our usual services and events, the special services coming up and information about the Anglican presence in Izmir, past and present.  If you would like to find out more about us, do not hesitate to get in touch.

UPDATE (29 October 2020)
The Church of St John the Evangelist is currently open for worship on Sundays at 10.00 am for the Holy Eucharist.  Special measures are in place to make this a safe and secure event.  We look forward to welcoming you.   Evening prayer on Tuesdays is at 5.00 pm, and continues to be a service held on Zoom.  We have Bible Study on Wednesdays at 2.00, currently this is also a Zoom event. Please email the Chaplain ( if you would like to join us.   

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 8 November 2020  
The Remembrance Sunday Service is at St John's Church at 10.45 am on Sunday 8 November.  Social distancing measures will be in place.  Entrance may need to be restricted.  The service includes the reading of the names of the fallen, two minutes silence (at 11.00 am) and prayers for peace.    

ARMISTICE DAY SERVICE  Wednesday 11 November at 6.00 pm
There will be a short outdoor ceremony to mark Armistice Day, at 6.00 pm on Wednesday 11 November at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, Bornova.

Our congregation members come from many different parts of the world, but our common language is English, which we use both in our worship and in our other meetings.   
In normal times we meet weekly on Tuesday afternoons at  St. Mary Magdelene Anglican Church, Bornova.  However, during the health crisis this service is suspended.  We meet on line instead.

St John's Church may be viewed on Sunday mornings, before or after the Eucharist.  St Mary Magdalene's Church is currently closed to visitors.  You can find some pictures of our churches on this website, and do 'like' our Facebook page, where you can see many images of our churches and our church life.
